The kindergarten at our school is structured
to provide children with the basic foundations for integral growth in
elementary school. Since the class is small, the program is
individualized; each child's needs are evaluated and met through a
schedule of daily work and activities.
The kindergarten follows a curriculum
parallel to that of the public schools in the area, encompassing language,
reading, math, science and art. However, the small classes and the
teaching methods used provide an atmosphere which allows children to
advance beyond the program as far as they are interested and able. The
emphasis is on learning by doing, employing the five senses in a variety
of stimulating and meaningful experiences.
Children are prepared academically, socially and
emotionally for their elementary years. Our kindergarten program is also
designed to meet the needs of working parents, who wish their children to
attend school on a full-time basis. The children participate in the
kindergarten from 8:30-11:30, after which they join in a free-flowing
program, similar to that of the nursery school, during the remainder of
the day.
