Summer Program

Our summer program runs from the end of June to the end of August. During this time the school enriches its normal curriculum and schedule of activities in order to include summer activities. The children are offered the opportunity to participate in special activities which are focused within the natural environment. Some of the summer activities that may be offered are:

* SWIMMING...Morning swimming and afternoon frolics in the school's swimming pool are a permanent summer attraction. Learning to put one's head under water and take the first strokes is a real thrill, which goes along with being COOL!

* GARDENING...The gardening classes begin as soon as weather permits. From seed to harvest, the children learn the joys and responsibilities of growing their own food. Preparing snacks from their own vegetables is a treasured experience.

* ART AND CRAFTS...Woodworking, sewing, and modeling with clay are some of the weekly projects in which the children engage.

* HIKING..Teacher and children explore the 30 acres of the school property. Each hike is designed to study a different area of nature, and may include a picnic. Enrichment activities back at the school expand the children's experiences with nature.
